Garabide Elkartea has been supporting the process of revitalizing the Nasa Yuwe language in Cauca (Colombia) for many years. This year, a congress was held that marked a milestone in this process, where it became evident that local institutions and the community have undergone a significant shift in how they value the language in recent years.

Two decades ago, the native language was a source of shame; today, speakers proudly affirm their ownership of the language, place it at the core of their community and Nasa identity, and envision the future of the community in Nasa Yuwe.
