Its aim was to create new relationships among language and speaker communities engaged in revitalization processes, as well as to strengthen those already in existence.<\/p>\n<p>The project focused on all kinds of good practices used by speaker communities. These practices are innovative, appropriate, successful, or exemplary\u2014not only for the communities that created them, but also for many other language and speaker communities.<\/p>\n<p>Becoming familiar with good practices can have multiplying effects: sharing experiences, learning from others, supporting and enriching one another can strengthen the success of initiatives. Furthermore, by combining global and local perspectives, it helps reinforce the international movement.<\/p>\n<p>Thus, the Hitzargiak project gathers and showcases good practices on its website, while also connecting organizations working on language revitalization. These good practices are displayed as points of light on a map, located within the area of influence of each respective language.<\/p>\n<p>As a milestone in the development of the Hitzargiak project, a meeting was held in 2016 in Hernani, in the Basque Country, where dozens of activities included in the collection were presented, providing an opportunity for their promoters to come together.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"w-separator size_medium\"><\/div><div class=\"w-video align_none ratio_16x9 has_iframe\"><div class=\"w-video-h\"><iframe title=\"Youtube video player\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/lTDsuUkfCeU?autoplay=0&controls=1&origin=https:\/\/bihar.eus\/en\/&loop=0&mute=0\" allowfullscreen=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\"><\/iframe><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Hitzargiak project, developed around the year 2016 when Donostia\/San Sebasti\u00e1n was the European Capital of Culture, was an initiative in favor of Europe\u2019s linguistic diversity.
